History and founding
The label was founded in 2025 as a creative platform for high-quality CD productions.
The initiative emerged from the collaborative musical efforts of Karakantas and Simon, who have successfully worked together for several years in the ensemble “nuovo barocco.”
The name Ossa refers to the mountain range of the same name (Ossa, Greek: ÎŒσσα) in the region of Thessaly, Greece which is the home region of Dimitris Karakantas' family.
Ossa symbolizes the powerful bond between origin and artistic expression -
a reminder that creativity often begins where our roots run deepest.

Artistic profile
Ossa is dedicated to releasing music from the Renaissance to the Romantic period, with a focus on detailed historically informed interpretation and authentic instrumentation.
The label aims to present both renowned and lesser-known works to a broad audience.
Releases
The label's first CD, “AMANTI,” was released in September 2025. Further productions with the ensemble “nuovo barocco” and other international artists, specialised in historically informed performance practice are in preparation.
