From passionate introspection to pastoral intimacy, the new CD Imperial Arias spans a wide musical arc through the multifaceted emotional universe of Habsburg oratorio. Florencia Menconi, Henry Van Engen and Alberto Gaspardo, together with their ensemble Le Filigrane, embark on an impressive journey into the sound world of the early 18th century at the Viennese court.

Between delicate intimacy and stirring drama, a programme unfolds that brings together works by court composers Antonio Caldara, Johann Joseph Fux, Giuseppe Porsile, Marc'Antonio Ziani, Georg Reutter the Younger and even Emperor Joseph I.
